It is odd that the style sheet given to translators of OBO, page 83, begins with No Rhetoric. The entire book is an exercise in rhetoric. Using ‘we’ is a rhetorical choice. Being non-directive and requiring this of the collective is a rhetoric choice. Writing with the intent to empower women is rhetorical.
